Il lungo dialogo tra arte e geografia. Il paesaggio urbano in trasformazione: i murales nei quartieri disagiati di Napoli Print

Abstract

The relationship between art and geography has a long history : many works of art revolve around geographical topics and deal with spatial categories. This article exemplifies this relationship through a case study on transformations of the Neapolitan landscape over time.  Some official projects (such as the Neapolitan Underground) are considered in the discussion. However,  examples of ‘informal art’ (such as graffiti found in the outskirts of the city) constitute the main ‘empirical’ materials around which the argument of this article is built.
