Abstract

Fantasmi dei viventi is a meditation on the experimental photograph by Anton Giulio Bragaglia entitled Un gesto del capo (1911). The essay recreates the Bergsonian vitalism underlying Bragaglia’s aesthetics of change and illustrates the avantgardist challenge against post-Kantian transcendentalism. With reference to Bergson and Deleuze, Fantasmi dei viventi analyzes also the paradoxes of immanence and Bragaglia’s aesthetics of «intermovemental» intervals.
